Job Title: Field Technician

Salary: $40,500 - $47,341

Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

General Statement of Duties: The Field Technician will work under the supervision of the Tax Assessor or Deputy Assessor as well as work independently, having the ability to measure and list new construction, additions and construction in progress on all permits. Must be able to work in conditions other than an office environment (i.e. construction sites). The Field Technician will also assist the Tax Assessor in the annual production of the Grand List and be able to communicate with taxpayers at the counter, on the phone and via email.

Supervision: Works under the supervision of the Assessor and Deputy Assessor.

Examples of Duties:

  • Measures and lists all types of construction
  • Maintains sales books
  • Maintains exemption programs
  • Assists in the collection and maintenance of an accurate list of business personal property
  • Assists the public with general questions
  • Performs other office related duties as directed by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications – Knowledge, skills and ability:
Knowledge of construction; ability to prepare and maintain accurate records; ability to work independently; ability to maintain professionalism with the public; ability to perform light office duties; computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft office products such as Word and Excel.

Experience and Training: High school graduate. One year field experience. CCMA classes or a willingness to take CCMA classes.

Salary: $40,500 – $47,341
