DUTIES:

Under the supervision of the Tax Assessor, obtains data in the field on real and personal property for assessment purposes; does related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation from high school and two (2) years of full-time experience in accounting, double entry bookkeeping or financial analysis OR graduation from an accredited college of university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

At time of appointment, possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

SCOPE OF EXAMINATION:

There will be a written examination on a date to be determined, weighted 100% which will test for the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Good Knowledge of business practices, including financial statements.
• Working knowledge of assessment principles and practices.
• Ability to learn and apply the principles and methods of real and personal property valuation.
• Ability to acquire and apply knowledge of the law, rules and regulations governing property assessments.
• Ability to understand, solve and apply mathematical computations.
• Ability to deal effectively with taxpayers and co-workers.
