Job Title: Assistant to the Assessor

Salary: $ 22.10/hr to start union position

Hours: Part-time - 29 hours per week

The Town of Woodstock is currently seeking applications for the position of Assistant to the Assessor. Position entails a variety of administrative duties with a strong emphasis on computer skills and public relations. Work includes assisting the public in filing tax exemptions; inputting real estate, personal property, and motor vehicle related property information into an automated assessment record system, and general receptionist responsibilities.

The skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Paralegal or closely related field, with two years of increasingly responsible experience in real estate valuation or appraisal work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements:  Certification as a CCMA I or AAT, or willingness to complete courses is desirable. A Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator’s license may be required.
