Summary:
Assist in the performance of various secretarial duties in the Assessor’s Office. Position has heavy contact with the general public, state and local officials and must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and professionally verbally, in written letter, by telephone and email. Must have knowledge of general office work along with ability to utilize office equipment including computer, copier, calculator, phone and is proficient working with Word, Excel & Outlook.
Duties Include :
- Answer customer questions professionally by phone and in person frequently
- Process Mailings
- Process Motor Vehicle Certificate of Corrections to an Assessment
- Take Applications for Exemptions and Rebates for Veterans, Elderly and Disabled Homeowners and Renters
- Explain Assessment procedures to the public for real estate, motor vehicle & personal property
- Responsible for recording and filing of building permits
- Assist’s Assistant Assessor with processing deed transfers and Personal Property Declarations
- Receive and process any and all information pertaining to the Board of Assessment Appeals
- Transcript of the minutes and assist the Board of Assessment Appeals in completing their duties
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Certifications Required:
High school diploma or its equivalent
