Job Title: Tax Assessor Clerk

Salary: Per Union Contract

The Town of Easton seeks an organized and efficient individual to provide clerical, technical and administrative support to the Tax Assessor. General duties include, but are not limited to, researching property transactions, computing and processing tax credits, administering Senior Tax Relief, preparing property lists as directed by the Assessor, and other clerical duties as required.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, union position. It is scheduled 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (with an unpaid hour for lunch). Salary per union contract. A full benefits package is provided, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurances, paid vacation, sick time, holidays, and the option to contribute to a 457 annuity and/or the Town’s retirement plan.

Minimum requirements:

High school graduate with two years’ administrative experience, preferably within a municipality, and preferably in an Assessor’s Office.

Required Knowledge, Abilities & Skills:

Good office skills, attention to accuracy, ability to apply basic business arithmetic, ability to use computer systems relevant to execution of job functions. Must be able to interact courteously and effectively with the public and must be able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.

The successful completion of a background check and drug test are required prior to hire.
