Job Title: Chief Clerk - Assessor's Office
Salary: $880.44 - $1,051.97 per week
Hours: Mon - Fri 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

SUMMARY OF POSITION: This is complex and highly responsible clerical work involving the supervision of other clerical employees. Employee in this class applies considerable independent judgment based on knowledge gained through experience in the performance of responsible specialized duties. Work problems involving important departures from standard policies are reviewed with superiors for final decisions, but ordinarily employees develop their own procedures and carry the work through to completion. Instructions are received from superiors on matters of policy and new assignments usually consist only of statements of desired objectives with work normally reviewed only for results obtained. Supervision is frequently exercised over a small clerical staff doing specialized work or over a larger group performing routine duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or closely related field with one (1) year of experience in clerical positions involving highly responsible work and three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role; OR two (2) years of full-time professional experience in a CT assessment environment and two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role; OR any equivalent combination of formal education/training and/or work experience.
SCOPE OF EXAMINATION: Applicants, who meet the requirements as stated above will be invited to participate in a performance examination, weighted 50%. Those who receive a score of 70% or better on the performance examination will then be scored on the answers provided on Application Supplement #19-06 and weighted 50%. Candidates must achieve a total overall score of 70% or better to be considered.
