Instead of the usual Veterans’ Workshop we have offered in the past regarding all the statutes governing the veteran’s exemptions this workshop will focus more on the coding itself. It will have some theory but focus more on the application of the codes. There seems to be some disconnect between the theory and application at the clerk level. Hopefully this will address that issue.

  • Available Exemptions
  • Statutes Governing Exemptions
  • Application of Each Statute
  • State Coding of Exemptions
  • Amount of Each Exemption
This Workshop will be basic. The goal is to fill the gap between the theory taught in our previous veteran’s workshops and actual application. Our latest Workshops have been taught by utilizing the statutes as to who gets what; but nothing about what to do at that point.
We will cover how to read the veterans coding chart and explain in more detail things like why someone gets CAB versus BAD or a BAE. This workshop is very valuable for a new clerk, assistant, or assessor who may have come directly from a revaluation company or outside the assessment profession.
